For both power and communication, the 750 safe area addressable gas detector only utilizes a two-core cable (daisy-chained to a master control panel and other detectors). When compared to conventional gas detectors, this enables users to save installation costs by up to 70%.

Users can upgrade their present-day systems easily and can utilize the wiring again, enabling them to upgrade old analog systems quickly and effectively and at a low cost.

Unique labyrinth sensor design

The molded detector includes a built-in baffle/splash guard in the front. This guard ensures the detector is completely protected by a labyrinth arrangement. While gas can penetrate, harmful dirt and splashes are unable to.

The life of the detector is prolonged by this feature, and maximum performance is always ensured.

The molding and final assembly ensure that the detector compartment is sealed away from the terminal box and electronics compartment, which stops the entry of corrosive gases, moisture, etc., where they could cause damage.

The molded detector front can also be equipped with pitot sample assemblies, calibration adaptors and pipe-in-pipe adaptors.

The calibration adaptor has been developed to present gas in the same way as it happens in routine operations, which makes it possible to carry out traceable checks and calibrations, which are vital in any safety system.

Multiple I/O points per detector

On the 750 safe area addressable detectors from International Gas Detectors, numb output and input options are included.

This means that a single detector can handle up to seven other devices, including, but not limited to, displays, other gas detectors, gas supply valves, slam switches, analog devices (third party included) and beacon sounders.

This feature means that users are supplied with a multipurpose detector, decreasing installation and cabling needs and supplying much-needed distributed control without the necessity for costly I/O cards.

Safe area detector ABS design

The tough ABS detectors provide a high level of chemical resistance and do not corrode. The 750 addressable safe area gas detectors are IP54 rated.

The detectors, electronics and sensor testing integrated into the 750 safe area addressable gas detectors are exactly the same as those that are utilized in International Gas Detectors’ ATEX variant.

The only difference in these models is the housing material, so users are not expected to pay for an ATEX-rated detector if they do not require one.

Safe area addressable gas detectors can be employed in applications that are not zoned ATEX locations. Since its detectors are doing the same kind of job, International Gas Detectors ensures that the quality of the detection is identical.

With conduit knock-outs pre-molded, the housing can be mounted on the wall. The TOC-750 series addressable gas detector housing can also be mounted to Dado trunking or flush wall-mounted as they are a standard two-gang mount.

Replaceable sensor fronts and auto changeover

The 750 safe area addressable gas detector is supplied with sensor fronts which can be replaced easily. This means that users can easily substitute the detector front side with a pre-calibrated one when the sensor reaches its end of life.

In order to considerably decrease ongoing maintenance costs, the detectors utilize an easy plug-and-play technology.

AUTO detect, and AUTO changeover features are also included in all of the 750 addressable gas detectors from International Gas Detectors.

This means that by simply swapping the fronts, the gas type of the detector can be changed, and the system will spot this change and set it up automatically. This is ideal for locations such as rented laboratories.

Sentinel+ addressable communication

In order to communicate across the two-core power cable, the 750 series detectors use the Sentinel+™ 2-wire protocol. This decreases cabling costs considerably (by around 70% to 80% when compared to existing commercially available systems). Reliability is increased, while terminations are also made easy.

To ensure the highest availability and integrity and of the system, the Sentinel+™ protocol tracks data between the system controller and the connected detectors constantly.

Existing systems can be upgraded easily by utilizing only a pair of wires for power and communication. This can be performed by using the original cabling, with the option to include more devices and detectors as and when required.
